May 1966, Carroll K. Rush, founder, opens his door for business of Rush Electric, as a sole proprietorship, at his home residence in Alexandria, Virginia.

Soon after the company’s conception the office was moved into renovated office space located in the garage behind the residence of Mr. Rush.

In 1970, the company became incorporated and officially announced its name as Rush Electric Co. Inc. The office was then relocated to 3005 Memorial Street, off Route 1 in the Beacon Hill area of Fairfax County.

During 1975, the company moved to its present location at 5510 Franconia Road in the Rose Hill Area of Alexandria.

The evolution of the company’s corporate identity moved to new heights, its creation reflected the company’s position as a leader in the Northern Virginia area.

In April 1981, the acquisition of a heating and air conditioning company expanded Rush to offer heating, air conditioning and plumbing to their list of services. This growth opened the door for the introduction of their present name of Rush Companies.

In 1991, due to modernization, Rush Companies recreated its corporate identity to establish a new era in their leadership of the service industry.

With the ever-changing factors in their industry, a conservation icon was created to acknowledge Rush’s continuing awareness for the environment.
